LeRoi Jones

LeRoi Jones, later known as Amiri Baraka, was a poet, playwright, critic, and activist whose career reshaped American literature. A central figure of the Black Arts Movement, his work fused radical politics, jazz, race, and language into confrontational, influential writing that challenged power and demanded cultural transformation and artistic freedom.
