Pavel Haas was a Czech composer whose career blended modernist techniques with Moravian folk influences, producing lyrical, expressive, and rhythmically inventive works. A student of Janáček, he excelled in chamber music, orchestral pieces, and vocal compositions. Deported to Theresienstadt and later Auschwitz, his promising career was tragically cut short, leaving a poignant musical legacy.
